Step 16. Reading, writing, and exercise are certainly getting easier, and I’ve increased the exercise by very small amounts each day. I’m feeling stronger, fitter, and happier. Sleep is improving — earlier to bed each night and feeling more refreshed in the mornings. As I continue to maintain these small but important habits I shall start to get more disciplined with my planning. Again, small steps to start with, and then slowly build on them. So tonight will be a 20 second planning activity for tomorrow, and I shall program a reminder into my calendar as a little nudge to get me to plan every evening and to check my plan every morning.

I’m getting used to not eating sugar. I don’t miss it, but I do occasionally think that a little chocolate would be nice. But it’s the daily habits that will move me forward, so I can happily look forward to a chocolate cake on my birthday and really appreciate it, without needing chocolate on other days. I’ll treat it as a reward or birthday pleasure and not as a treat. That gives me a healthy lifestyle with the luxury of occasional rewards.

Day 8 of healthy eating done.

Day 16, job done.
